Hunter/Jumper Shows

Brookside Beach Party 2012.

Walking the course, preparation is important!

To see what shows we will be attending, please see our Show Calendar. Horse shows are an excellent way for riders to set goals, monitor their progress, and reap the rewards of their hard work, and are great fun for everyone! In keeping with our philosophy, Black Bay Equestrian emphasizes sportsmanship, horsemanship, a "good ride" for the horse and rider and to have fun! We are pleased to be able attend many different shows of various levels throughout the year.

For novices who are just beginning their show career, there are local schooling shows at least once per month. Schooling shows are low key and geared towards learning and showing in a more relaxed atmosphere.

These SAHJA (Sacramento Area Hunter Jumper Association) shows allow riders to accumulate points throughout the show season, with annual championship trophies and awards given in recognition of members earning the most points in their classes throughout the show year.

For the more advanced rider or those with more show experience, we attend a number of A and B rated shows throughout the year. These multi-day shows offer the opportunity to compete for year end points as well as Champion and Reserve standings for that individual show.
